This is the headline of an article that quotes a doctor saying that vitamins aren't necessary for kids. While this is completely false, the context was/is meant that vitamins supplements aren't necessary for kids. What you also may notice (if your grammar is above par) is the use of a colon instead of a semi-colon after 'Doctors'. Really, a comma would've been the right punctuation, thereby implying that Doctors aren't necessary for kids. :-)
This may be slight sarcasm, but the truth is that too many adults use their doctor for too many minor problems (their own or their child's), most of which will either heal on their own, OR could be prevented in the first place with a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables. And that is a big problem today as evidenced by the obesity epidemic: kids don't eat enough of the healthy foods and too many of the unhealthy ones. It is well-known that Juice Plus+® has a soft-chewable variety for kids, and that the Juice Plus+® products all contain nutrients from a variety of fruits and vegetables. Such a supplement is one that may be what kids need, as opposed to just a single vitamin or multi-vitamin that isn't made from whole food fruits and vegetables.
Here is the story regarding the comments about vitamins not necessary for kids --
Wausau - MyFox Wausau - Each year, American kids consume more than a billion dollars worth of vitamin supplements. Now health experts say a lot of that consumption may be unnecessary.
They come in all shapes, sizes, and flavors. But some doctors believe, in most cases, kids don't need them. Pediatricians say it all comes down to diet. During childhood and adolescence the body is growing fast, and having good nutrition, not popping pills, is most important. Plus, getting too much of certain vitamins, like Vitamin A, could actually cause health problems.
According to the American Association of Pediatrics, nutrition is best gained through food.
"Vitamin D is recommended to get, but outside of that," explained Dr. Larry Gordon, an Aspirus Pediatric Specialist. "If somebody is eating a good, varied diet, they'll get the multivitamins, they'll get all the different vitamins they need."
If you have a child who's a picky eater, some sort of supplement may be necessary, but it's best to consult a doctor.
Whether they're for children or adults, doctors do agree that multivitamins are generally safe. And it's ultimately up to the parents to decide if they're right for their kids. (reference)
Comments: The bottom line is that you may not need doctors nor may you need vitamins for yourself or your children if you follow a healthy diet that includes plenty of RAW, RIPE, fruits and vegetables and even grapes and berries. Juice Plus+® also has a Berry Blend made using 9 different grapes and berries for those of you who want to add more nutrients from additional sources of Mother Nature in order to get those added antioxidants for helping prevent sickness and disease.
